What you need to know about subbing at a LiiNK campus!
Welcome to the LiiNK Program's Substitute Training
Hi!  We want to tell you about the LiiNK Projects' mission!
Our mission is to bridge the gap between academics and the social, emotional and healthy well-being of children.
We do this by adding multiple recess periods and character development to the school day.
Your Responsibilities
Timers
Transitions
Monitoring
On the Playground
Timers
Ask a team member what the transition times are.
Set those times as alarms on your phone.  
Exit promptly when the alarm sounds.
I wonder if I have a hallway responsibility?
Be sure to ask team members what your hallway role is.
Are you the Lead?  The Sweeper?  Bathroom or hallway support?
Transitions to Recess
When the alarm sounds, inform students of what they should resume working on upon return.
Remind students of hallway expectations and send them on their way.  No need to wait for everyone to line up!
If a student is talking or running, make them go back and walk with the sweeper teacher.
Restrooms on the way out to recess, not upon return!
On the Playground
Recess is unstructured;  students can choose their activities.
Ensure safety among students
Adults should be stationed around the playground, actively monitoring students
It's okay if we want to sit and talk.  We don't have to run and play.
Cheering from the sidelines is okay too, but don't involve yourself in our activities...unless they're unsafe!
No books, classwork, technology, or items from home are permitted at recess.
If we've made poor decisions during class or at recess, we will need to play in an isolated location for a few minutes.
You cannot take away our recess as punishment.
Please help us talk through how to make a positive choice next time.
The lead teacher signals the end of recess.  
Transitioning from Recess
Remind students of hallway expectations (silent, hands to selves and walking) before they enter the building.
Students may get a quick drink of water.
They will promptly resume work.
Indoor Recess
No technology and no reading
Check with team members about weather guidelines, and how indoor play is set up
Locate the Prop Box- Ask the students!
Allow 15 minutes of unstructured play; then, clean up.
Ask the team if this is a Positive Action campus.
If it is, look for the assigned lesson number in the sub plans and locate the manual.
