Compare and Contrast Isaac And Lil

Isaac
Despite the fact that Lily and Isaac are both the oldest and capable, initiative-driven leaders, Isaac is the genuine leader of the two.
Lil's Leadership
Isaac observes a strange signal coming from the refinery station as Val prepares the kids and the U.S.S. Montgomery to land at the refinery, but Val tries to brush it off by saying, "That — That sounds impossible" (Lemire). To make an effort to calm the kids. Lil becomes intrigued by the "S.O.S." (Lemire) signal, which motivates her to take the initiative and leave the ship in aim of assisting someone in need. Her willingness to put herself in harm's way in order to assist others and take action in the face of peril demonstrates a valuable quality that would make her a great leader. Lil is able to ensure the security of those close to her by acting appropriately when needed.
Isaac's Leadership
Isaac exhibits inherent leadership qualities similar to Lil. Isaac maintains his composure and takes control of the situation despite Lil fleeing the ship and approaching the refinery station. Isaac steps forward to help everyone feel less anxious after he loses contact with Lil: "I'm the oldest one left, Val." (Lemire). Considering that nobody else can go save Lil Not even Val Isaac takes matters into his own hands and is willing to assist the crew and meet their demands to get Lil back aboard the ship safely, saying, "You have no means of helping her if something is wrong" (Lemire).
The quote suggests that Isaac would make a far better leader. Lil proved to be a risky leader by choosing to travel into the uncharted zone and allowing her feelings to control her behavior. Lil entered the situation without knowing what difficulties she may encounter.

Lil failed to think about the practicality of needing to conduct the investigation in the first place or how the team could have felt without her. She does not exhibit Isaac's level of care and responsibility.

On the other hand, Isaac assessed the gravity of the circumstance before determining his course of action. He consistently demonstrates a predominance of authority. Isaac cared for the group as a whole and understood how crucial it was to keep everyone united on board.

He maintained his composure and remained strong despite the crew's hatred for him because of what his mother did. Regardless of the situation, Isaac constantly put the needs of others above his own.
Contrast Between The Two 
In conclusion, Lil and Isaac both shown excellent leadership skills throughout the book, proving that they are both capable of doing so. However, the two handle events in remarkably different ways. Isaac is ultimately the most qualified leader in terms of competence and conscienceness .
