Here are 5 tips to help you to be safe online

Being nice online is a great thing to do as a person but will also save you from having to explain yourself and apologize to a lot to people online.
Tip 1
Be  nice to people online
Keep your financial records, Social Security cards and insurance cards in a safe place like a safe or locked drawer
Tip 2
Keep personal information private
There is nothing more important than keeping your personal information secure so that you can prevent identity theft. This information is the gateway to your financial institutions, medical records, credit score and other important personal records.

Tip 3
Take care with what you share 
While meeting someone you met online is fairly common, you should still do it safely by taking it slow and meeting up in public. Before you meet anyone, avoid giving away too much information about yourself, like your address or birthday, so they can't find you without your consent.
Tip 4
Never meet anyone in person you've met online
Criminals use them to con people into giving away passwords and bank details – the technical word is ‘phishing’.
