The Barangay Toril Proper started on early 1900s where Datu Dalmacio Agton was the first Bagobo (Tagabawa) who became leader of the tribe in Toril Proper. He was engaged in small scale farming and carabao racing. Toril’s name was derived from the word “Ranch of Cattles (Toril sa Baka)” which were raised in the place. Then on year 1904, Toril was a forested area, the other barangays along the seashores were Lipadas, Daliao & Sirawan. The first Christian Settlers who lived in Toril were Juan dela Cruz, Cayetano Bangoy Sr. & Victoriano De Guzman.
On year 1918, the first public school was constructed. Mr. Eustaquio Desabilla a christian settler was the first teacher. Then on 1921, the first public school became a Primary School. On year 1924, M
