Device-Ready Course
Kindergarten through fifth grade teachers must complete the Technology Cart Checkout Form in order to get a cart from the learning commons.
K-5 teachers are responsible for the cart that they check out and cannot transfer cart or device(s) to another teacher.

Devices do not leave the classroom.

Post a roster of assigned devices on the inside door of the cart.

Teachers must count and check all devices after each use.

Charge devices every night in a locked cart.
Suggestions:

-Cover labels with a strip of clear packing tape

-Have the device number be the same number already being used (e.g. calculators)

-Have a student tech helper to ensure all device slots are filled and chargers connected securely.

Make sure to carry the device with both hands   and encourage  students to do the same.

Avoid placing anything heavy on top of the device as this may damage the screen.

Keep food and liquids away from the device.
Teachers must return the cart to the learning commons along with the key by the last day of school for students.

Report any damaged or non-working devices to the Tech Dept. immediately by completing a tech work order located on the ECPS homepage.
Place a note/flag on the device(s) that need service and place it back into the cart.

Teachers are responsible for requesting additional devices by completing  a tech work order.

Teachers should complete the Chromebook check-in form and return the cart to the learning commons along with the key by the date listed on the check-in form.
Important Note: All K-5 teachers (substitute or otherwise) must complete the required Device- Ready Training before using devices.

These devices are NOT to be used as part of a sub lesson plan UNLESS the LONG-TERM SUB has completed the required training AND has been approved by school admin.  The teacher will need to plan for other resources to be used during the absence unless the sub has completed the training.
Students must use only their ECPS student email account on district devices.

Students should not log on with personal email accounts.

Accounts are automatically generated 24 hours after students are enrolled in PowerSchool.
