Question:

How do we address parents about the conduct or social skills of a student who has been misbehaving?
Remember:

- Strong and effective parent 
communication is proactive and can begin at the very beginning of the school year.
Achieving the best for our students involves forming a partnership with parents.
What can we do at the beginning of the school year?

- Reach out to parents. Make yourself visible and approachable.
- Use a personalised call or meeting if you can.
- If this is impractical, an introduction video can be efficient and impactful.

-Expectation of on-line learning and brief virtual teaching plan sent to parents if they are in a virtual/remote school setting.

- Give personalised student feedback where appropriate using different channels.

- Make productive use of parent-teacher conferences.
In the video conferencing, teachers may utilize screen sharing to present student work, discuss various assessments students had, share educational resources.
- Give regular updates and feedback on class 
activities using a variety of communication channels. Communicate your expectations also.

- Explore opportunities for parental involvement in class activities.
- Consider project work that can involve home and school cooperation...
or simply the opportunity for students to share activities from home in class.
- If it is in a virtual/remote school setting, besides the strategies above in physical classroom we can still use,    some practical, quick and easily implemented strategies can be offered to parents to support students' learning.

- Proactively welcome and ask for feedback and expectations from parents also. Google Forms is just one way you can get this. 
- Always ensure clear, open and easy methods for parents to get in touch with any questions or concerns.

- Your genuine warmth, care and understanding, and positive and respectful relationships you build with students themselves indirectly impact your relationships with parents.
and never forget:
Now building a partnership with parents is important in it's own right...

... but also proactively develops the mutual trust and respect that will be necessary if you do have to get in contact regarding student misbehavior.

If you do need to get in touch with parents regarding misbehavior:
- Then listen to the parents. Allow them to share their thoughts and ideas.
Support should be a collaborative process with them and the students themselves.
- Always start with sharing "glows". Positive feedback for the student about growth they have made.
How to support students and achieve mutual teacher/parent goals: 
Collaborate with school psychological counselor to  provide ongoing support to develop students social and emotional skill.Set specific, achievable but difficult tasks.Give detailed feedback.Reward growth.
