The First Step To Learn Abroad Session is a self-paced, online session with an assessment. The Session will cover topics such as program types, eligibility, deadlines, courses, finances, and more. This is the first step for interested students to learn more about the study abroad process and ask any questions they may have. Common Myths
* Statistically, it’s more likely something will happen at home.
* Use the same level of caution as you would in any big or                 unfamiliar city.
* Countries and programs are monitored for safety.
“It’s too dangerous to go overseas – it’s safer to stay at home.”
* Employees with international experience wanted: ~10% of    
   American college students study abroad.
* Stand out from the crowd:
* Problem solving skills
* Learn to handle unfamiliar situations
* Communicate with different cultures
* Communicate in a second language
“International experience isn’t important for my future job or to my employer.”

   attending one or two quarters at UCR!
* Most eligible financial aid will apply, depends on your program
