I'm Sean!
We’re now going to spend a few minutes reviewing some important information to help Tooele Tech maintain an environment that is free of harassment and discrimination.
In compliance with all federal, state, and local laws the College prohibits all forms of harassment, discrimination, and related inappropriate conduct by students, employees, or third party members.
This includes on campus, at College operated facilities or programs, and College related activities.

Harassment or discrimination in any form shall be grounds for immediate and appropriate disciplinary action.

Harassment is defined as unwelcome conduct that is based on a number of factors, including:
Race
Color
Sex
Pregnancy, childbirth, or pregnancy-related conditions
Age, if the individual is 40 years of age or older
Religion
National Origin
Disability
Sexual Orientation
Gender Identity
Harassment becomes unlawful where
enduring the offensive conduct becomes a condition of continued enrollment, or
the conduct is severe or pervasive enough to create a learning environment that a reasonable person would consider intimidating, hostile, or abusive.
Anti-discrimination laws also prohibit harassment against individuals in retaliation for filing a discrimination charge, testifying, or participating in any way in an investigation or proceeding.
Petty slights

Isolated incidents (unless extremely serious)

Annoyances
will not rise to the level of illegality.

To be unlawful, the conduct must create a learning environment that would be intimidating, hostile, or offensive to reasonable people.
Please remember that offensive conduct may include, but is not limited to things like:

offensive jokes
slurs, epithets or name calling
physical assaults or threats
intimidation, 
ridicule or mockery
insults or put-downs
offensive objects or pictures
interference with school performance
stalking and sexual exploitation
Being considerate and respectful of others is the best way to avoid harassment.

Consider how you would like to be treated by others and how others would like you to treat them.

To further the culture that unwelcome harassing conduct will not be tolerated, the College has established an effective complaint or grievance process, provides annual anti-harassment training to faculty and staff, and takes immediate and appropriate action when a student complains.

Students are encouraged to inform the harasser directly that the conduct is unwelcome and must stop. Students should also report harassment to faculty or program directors at an early stage to prevent its escalation.
