Most videos have 8 seconds to grab attention before people close the window. That is not a lot of time, and means you have to pack a good punch right in the beginning of your movie! In fact, The average focused attention span of an adult (focused attention span meaning attention needed for short-term tasks such as watching a commercial or short video) is, on average, only about 8 seconds, so you really, really need to grab them while you can or your video is a lost cause.

In the first second a simple explanation, something we have all probably wondered how to do at one point in our lives, grabs the curiosity of the watchers making it impossible to close the window before the conclusion of the movie. It is so simple, but this guy did something right to get over 5 million views on YouTube!
Laughter is the best medicine
If you make someone laugh, there is a very good chance they will remember you, but make sure your humor is in good taste and not offensive (there can be a fine line). The CEO of this company hit the nail on the head when he made this commercial, and 13.5 million YouTube views later he is still being talked about all over the marketing world.
